New opportunities of the Situation and Analytical Centre of NRU MPEI
At the meeting of the academic council held on March 28 in the meeting hall of the Scientific Council of National Research University MPEI, the Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation S.V. Belousov, together with the head of the development team—General Director of ProfItProject company S.V. Khodzhaev—presented new capabilities of the MPEI Situational and Analytical Center (SAC).
The Situation and Analysis Center (SAC) was established in 2021 as part of the digital transformation policy implementation to address tasks aimed at enhancing the efficiency and competitiveness of the National Research University Moscow Power Engineering Institute (NRU MPEI). A team of 15 developers responsible for the software components of the SAC and several other information systems created at NRU MPEI between 2019 and 2021 arrived from various Russian cities—including St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, and others—to participate in the presentation.
The comprehensive software and hardware solution developed for the SAC is built on the domestic software platform Turbo X and the software suite KPI MONITOR Analyzer.
The SAC modules presented to the Rectorate enable a comparative analysis of NRU MPEI’s performance indicators alongside other leading Russian universities. This analysis is based on data from the Monitoring of Higher Education Institutions’ Performance conducted by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education, as well as indicators from the "Priority 2030" Program.
Vice-Rector S.V. Belousov spoke about the prospects of using the solution developed for the SAC as a standalone IT product on a domestic platform for universities and companies in the real sector of the economy. In accordance with the principles of the "University 3.0 (education, science, innovation)" concept, the creation of an information and analytical service called "Climate Transformation of the City of Moscow" is planned for 2022 within the framework of the Strategic Project "Climate Transformation of the Energy Sector" of the NRU MPEI Development Program until 2030.
"The Situation and Analysis Center, as a management tool, will enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the university's activities and support the digitalization process of Russian higher education and the domestic economy," emphasized NRU MPEI Rector N.D. Rogalev at the conclusion of the presentation.
